Mother earth provides us humans with FOOD: the fuel of life. And my passion is to transform the treasures of the soil into delicious healthy meals that I want share with the world. The result: AloftyLife’s Happily Healthy Kitchen.

Ever since I was a little girl I watched and helped my mother cook away in her kitchen, creating incredibly delicious meals. To this day, I cook all the time and enjoy all the aspects of this magical art, from cutting, washing and peeling vegetables from the garden, to cooking and spicing them up, to finally enjoying the finished, savoury and flavourful product. How do you transform a simple vegetable into a tasty bite on a lonely white plate? It takes creativity, and the best ingredients!

I believe in sustainable farming. Don’t you agree that the organic products from local farms makes for much tastier food? I cook in a healthy way, staying away from processed foods and I try my hardest to only use local products from local farms or farmer’s markets, which supports the local economy. I want to know where my ingredients come from. I cook with ethically sourced, organic products from local artisans that I know and trust whenever possible, and that are also unprocessed and free of artificial preservatives, additives or refined sugars. I came up with the term “Locavore”, which describes a person who only buys seasonal ingredients from local farms and farmer’s markets. I get some ideas from recipes, but I cook with my gut feeling, letting my imagination, creativity and passion write my recipes while I’m in the kitchen.

 My Happily Healthy Kitchen is full of vegetables, free range local meat, whole grains and seeds embracing the changing seasons. I let nature decide what’s on the menu!
